Alan and I watched the video through careful synchronization over the phone last night (”Okay, are you cached yet? Okay, 1… 2… 3… PLAY!” “Oh my god my computer freaked out when Samuel L. Jackson appeared! Stop! Rewind to 2:22!”). Afterwards, as we excitedly discussed the debut of the movie, we debated whether or not this would be the highest grossing film of all time (I think YES Alan thinks UH, PROBABLY NOT). “But everyone I know is OBSESSED with this movie coming out!” I argued, “People are more excited about this than Lord of the Rings! And Star Wars!”
When I woke up this morning, I realized that the only other person who is as obsessed with this movie is Alan. By FAR. No one else I know comes close to the fervor of our anticipation. I somehow sublimated my zeal into mass appeal. But it’s okay. The two of us are excited enough for everyone!
I can’t WAIT until the soundtrack comes out. (There was a contest for soundtrack music, so the track list is comprised of the winners! OTHER FANS WHO LOVE SNAKES AND SAMUEL L. JACKSON AND PLANES!) I thought August 18th was a long time to wait. August 15th is going to be hard to wait for.
